HISTORIA
The probable origin of the Portuguese Podengo is from unspecialized, primitive hunting dogs that were obtained and distributed by Phoenician traders during their circumnavigation of Africa in 600 BC. The Portuguese Podengo was recognized by the United Kennel Club July 1, 2006.
